Modern Slavery Statement

Opening Statement

Ascensos is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and imposes the same high standards on its suppliers.

As an equal-opportunities employer, we are committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for all colleagues. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business.

We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to
tackling modern slavery. We expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers and other business partners.

This statement sets out our actions to understand potential modern slavery risks related to our business and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in or connected to our business.

Structure of the Organisation

Ascensos is an owner managed, innovative customer care outsourcing specialist. We offer multichannel customer contact solutions across both traditional and digital channels. We have scalable operations in the UK, Romania, Turkey & South Africa, with 10 locations and over 3500 employees.

Policies

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business. As part of our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and our commitment to combating modern slavery, we have the following policies:

Due diligence

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring within our business, we have adopted the following due diligence procedures and checks:

  • Recruitment and people management processes are designed to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work and to safeguard employees from any abuse or coercion once in our employment.
  • Eligibility to work in the country and vetting of candidates joining the business.

 

Training

Training on modern slavery, and on the risk our business faces from modern slavery will be given where needed.

Monitoring and Enforcement

This statement will be reviewed annually by Ascensos’ Senior Leadership Team, who is responsible for monitoring and enforcing the policies within

Our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery must be communicated to all suppliers, contractors and business partners at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced appropriately thereafter.

Further actions and sign-off

We encourage colleagues to raise concerns about any issue of suspicion of modern slavery in any parts of our business at the earliest possible stage.

We may terminate our relationship with employees or other individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they are found to be involved with modern slavery.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement.
