Emilia

Multi-lingual Fashion Advisor

“I joined Ascensos 4 years ago, to deliver customer service on behalf of our high-street fashion brands, supporting customers across Europe and Worldwide. For me a ‘typical day’ is never typical. I absolutely love fashion, so it’s effortless for me to connect emotionally with customers and feel real empathy for their situation.

The thing I enjoy most about working at Ascensos is the people I work with. There’s a great atmosphere and a real sense of team spirit, with an energy that is infectious – it’s nothing like the ‘corporate world’.

I’ve had an exciting journey so far, with opportunities to expand my skillset and support the business as a seconded Team Manager and then Project Coordinator during our international integration in Bucharest. In my current role, I continue to support international recruitment at our Motherwell site and was delighted to be awarded ‘Client Champion of the Year’, on behalf of our high-street fashion brands, at last years’ awards”.

Where it all began. Motherwell is the spiritual home of Ascensos, and the operational hub from where we grew our European business capacity, across five operations, in four countries, to support both our UK and international consumer brands.

As we pioneered our mission to boldly transform customer care, our bright, spacious state-of-the-art Motherwell site was shaped to provide a flexible and energised multi-client environment. Six years on, we continue to take immense pride in the strong community partnerships we have established with local colleges, clubs and charities; offering sponsorship, training and career opportunities.

With 500-seats across two floors, this PCI compliant, 24/7 operation has excellent transport links and free onsite parking facilities, for those driving from Glasgow city centre and the surrounding areas.

“I regularly welcome new colleagues into the company and I always make a point of telling my new training groups; that working at Ascensos – will be exactly what you make it. There are so many opportunities here for those who show the willingness and the drive to learn, develop and shape their own career path.

I joined as a Customer Service Advisor, on a temporary contract 4 years ago. And whilst I had training experience from previous roles, I embraced the opportunity to work as a Team Manager and to then support our Recruitment, Training and Quality teams at Ascensos.

Working across different areas of the business certainly took me back to my roots, but it also reinforced the objective of my current role, making me a more focused and compassionate trainer. I enjoy my job. It fits around my family life and out-of-hours passion as a stand-up comedian. I was nominated for ‘Support Person of the Year’, at this years’ awards, where I also took to the stage to entertain my colleagues with some work-appropriate comedy!”

Paul

Customer Care DIY Specialist

“Since joining Ascensos 3 years ago as a Customer Service Advisor, I progressed quite quickly to our 2nd Line Complaints Team. I’m not fazed dealing with customer escalations and as a retired pub landlord, I’ve had a lot of experience managing people and difficult situations, so thinking on my feet and problem solving are second nature to me.

I’m also pretty good at DIY, so it was great to have the opportunity to work in-store for a couple of weeks to help customers face-to-face and at the same time increase my product knowledge and get a better understanding of in-store processes. Anything that helps me to do my job better, is always a bonus.

I’ve received a lot of positive feedback directly from our client, but it was still great to recently be awarded ‘Client Champion of the Year’, out of hundreds of well deserving colleagues at our annual awards party”.

Each of our operations has its own distinct flavour of Ascensos, featuring contemporary designed interiors, chill out spaces and inspired food choices from our onsite caterers, and of course, plenty of office fun.

At our Clydebank Campus, we have two adjacent PCI compliant operations facilitating a 600-seat capacity. One is a multi-client hub, while the neighbouring building is host to a dedicated multi-channel client-environment, where undertones of #theAteam harmonise superbly with a fully immersive DIY brand experience.

With excellent transport links and a 20-minute train commute from Glasgow, Clydebank Campus also has free onsite parking facilities, for those embarking on the 7-mile drive from Glasgow.

Think you have what it takes to be part of #theAteam? Check our current vacancies for the latest jobs in Clydebank and apply today.

I was nominated for a ‘Client Champion’ award this year, for my work supporting the implementation of a new CRM system. I had the opportunity to work directly with our client at their Head Office and was tasked with test driving and providing feedback on their new CRM system.

During the launch phase, I took on the role of internal CRM Super User and became the go-to person for any problems and support. I enjoyed supporting my team as they got to grips with the new system and ensured that everyone experienced the least possible disruption to their day during the switch over.

I delivered DIY advice and customer service for several years before joining #theAteam at Ascensos. So, it has almost felt like a breath of fresh air to have a change in environment, when we relocated to Clydebank, while still having the familiarity of my job”.
